NIV New International Version 2011 with G/K Numbers and Phrase Tagging

Prod ID: NIV11-GKE
Price: $49.99

This version of the NIV11-GK is enhanced by providing phrase tagging. It requires Accordance 10.4.5 or higher. For a video presentation of more great features, see this blog.

Derived from the NIV Exhaustive Concordance by John Kohlenberger III, this version adds the Goodrick-Kohlenberger Key numbers to the 2011 edition of the NIV as well as enhanced phrase tagging. This offers users the ability to amplify to Hebrew and Greek dictionaries and perform searches based on the G/K numbers.

The best-selling New International Version seeks to recreate as far as possible the experience of the original audience—blending transparency to the original text with accessibility for the millions of English speakers around the world. This 2011 revision represents the latest effort of the Committee on Bible Translation to articulate God’s unchanging Word in the way the original authors might have said it had they been speaking in English to the global English-speaking audience today.

The new footnotes include much more extensive cross-references.

Owners of the previous 1984 edition of the NIV in Accordance can use it in parallel with the NIV11 in order to compare the translations.

  1. Fabian

This is the must have English Bible. Even for me as a non native English speaker. The tagging of this Bible is by far the best Accordance offers for English. Strong’s numbers tagged Bibles are good. Goodrick/Kohlenberger tagged Bibles are better. And this Bible tops them all. See the video of the introduction blog for this Bible.

  2. Nathan Parker

For those who regularly use the NIV in Bible software, this is the most useful edition around. The “phrase tagging” feature is an Accordance-unique feature that better illustrates how the NIV translators produced the translation. It is super-useful to add in parallel with a literal English text or biblical language English text. This is a valuable addition to anyone’s Accordance library.

  3. (verified owner) Benjamin Noonan

This is a great resource to have. It offers an improvement over the already-good Goodrick-Kohlenberger key number system because it includes tagged phrases, not just words, a feature unique to Accordance. It is an especially powerful resource when used in conjunction with Accordance’s TEXT command in that you can easily search for the way particular forms/structures in Hebrew and Greek are translated; this makes it easy to find examples of those forms/structures for teaching purposes.
