This is a great tool for those wanting to hear the Hebrew Bible read with an authentic Israeli accent. These files are broken down verse by verse, making them easy to use.

I wanted to share an approach that has helped me get into the text of the Hebrew Bible using these excellent audio files and ANKI software. On one side of the flashcards I include short expressions (as well as single words, longer expressions and full verses) of favorite Scriptures as well as full chapters I am working on learning the Hebrew for, from the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS). And also, I include the audio portion related to these words (I use Audacity free program to edit these clips to correspond with the front of the card). In the back of the card I provide a translation, tending towards what I call the absurdly literal, as this fits in with this type of study. So part of the fun is preparing these cards. Before I added the audio my brain was giving me the translation of the Hebrew before I fully read the Hebrew. That sound like a good thing but it really is not. So now I will close my eyes while I listen to the Hebrew first, then read the Hebrew, and then check and grade the answer. I began using just the voices from the Bible Society of Israel included in this package (since then I have added two additional sources to improve my listening abilities). Some of the voices are much more difficult to understand, and that also makes for good practice. As of this updated review (September 2019) I have found the following positive results:
1. For materials I have studied, I am able to read from the BHS directly with excellent comprehension.
2. I am increasing my ability to comprehend the audio portion. There are times where I understand the audio even better than the written materials.
3. My ability to correctly read the Hebrew text out loud is improving.
4. With this background I am keen to study more grammar and vocabulary. When Hebrew grammar begins to answer the questions I have pondered, then it becomes a delight to study grammar. And the grammar is memorable because I can more easily apply it.
5. My ability to get a feeling for syntax has improved.
6. My confidence has improved, so that I feel that—with a little bit of effort—I can learn to read or listen to any portion of the Hebrew Bible, be it from the Law, Prophets or Writings.
7. While in the past I used to listen to these audio files from time to time, sometimes daily, I now listen to them all the time, spending about an hour a day plus half an hour more creating more cards. I am surprised as to how much this has helped me improve and gain confidence.

If anyone is interested in more details of the many variations and how I work with these cards, just drop me a line. I am not deleting the original evaluation from last year:

Produced by the Bible Society in Israel. This is a fantastic program. I purchased it in 2018 and find myself using it frequently, sometimes daily. One can choose to listen to a complete chapter at a time, or a verse at a time. When looking to properly pronounce specific words, the verse at a time option is ideal. The voices are genuine Israeli voices. This was very important to me. I own, besides this, two additional complete audio series on the Old Testament (Shlomo Bertonov and Abraham Shmueloff), which include the complete Hebrew Bible, with genuine Israeli voices. They are also excellent, albeit from different Hebrew pronunciation backgrounds. Sometimes I listen to all three recordings, the two I already have, and the Accordance version, in order to compare them.

To me, this program was worth every cent and I could not recommend it more highly. I would also say this, listening to the complete Hebrew Bible beginning with Genesis, as I did, really helps one get a better ear and feel for Biblical Hebrew. Once again, I could not recommend this program more highly.

This has been amazingly useful. It does require a massive amount of disk space though. (But still worth it)

The only downside I have observed is that the accent is sometimes a little confusing for me. And also there is a strange echo sound behind the words, I'm not sure why this is?
